Museum volunteers and lifelong Lyme residents Winnie and Mike Donno, with assistance from volunteers Ken Gollop, Felicity Hebditch and Graham Davies, have spent months researching the history of all kinds of sheds, huts and kiosks in the town.

Through historical photographs and personal stories, the exhibition describes the many uses of sheds in Lyme Regis over the years, from fishermen’s huts to allotment retreats. These often unglamorous buildings, which come in all shapes and sizes, have played an important part in town life past and present, but usually go unnoticed and unappreciated! This exhibition will be a real celebration of the humble shed.

Sheds of Lyme is the latest of Lyme Regis Museum’s special Winter exhibitions which are organised by museum volunteers and which look at topics of popular local interest.
