I heard a programme on the radio some time ago about a massive land slip around new year 1900 where peole were going to work from one level and returning later to find their cottages many feet lower down the hill but I can only find reports of a smaller one earlier this year. Comming to the Dorset steam fair soon and would like to look this up as a different day out

One of Lyme's biggest landslips occurred in December 1839 - see http://lymeregismuseum.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-great-landslip-of-1839.html
