Mapping the Undercliffs TALK & EXHIBITION TOUR

23 July, 2.30-4pm

Hear about Artist Alex Boon’s latest project ‘Mapping the Undercliff’ in a Talk which will be followed by a Private Tour of his new exhibition in the Rotunda Gallery, here in the Museum.

In 2023-2024, nature artist Alex Boon mapped the Undercliffs National Nature Reserve in the strip map style of John Ogilby’s Britannia Road Atlas (1675). The three resulting maps will be exhibited in the Rotunda Gallery in Lyme Regis Museum from 23rd July to 13th September.

In this talk, Alex will explain the processes of on-the-ground strip mapping and share experiences from his year exploring the Undercliff and observing the wildlife there. The talk will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition with the artist explaining further details of how the maps were created.

🗓23rd July, 2.30pm-4pm
