Loving Lyme’s History

Posted on: 24th August 2016

We love Lyme Regis Museum.  It’s charming, and it’s quirky.  But it’s bursting at the seams.  There just isn’t enough space to show off the town’s wonderful scientific and artistic heritage.  Or, for that matter, to look after our visitors properly (it’s true – we don’t even have loos!).

So, we’re showing it our love.  We’re building an extension to be proud of.  Yes, we’ve had to shut the main doors for a while (although there’s still lots going on – see below).  Yes, the Museum is a bit of a building site (although we’ve taken every care to keep disruption to a minimum).  But we can’t wait to throw open the doors again next July to show off our bigger, better Museum.  And we can’t wait to show you around.  Loos and all.

In the meantime, we are far from closed.  In fact, there’s lots going on.   We’re still running fossil walks, town walks, Mary Anning walks plus many other events around town.

Full details are on our website – you can book online too.  Or if you’d rather speak to someone, give us a ring or pop into our temporary shop on Bridge Street.  We hope to hear from you soon.

We’re Loving Lyme’s History – we hope you will too!
