PRESS RELEASE: Volunteer for the Front of House Team

Posted on: 29th March 2018

Lyme Regis Museum would like to hear from enthusiastic people who love Lyme and its history who would be interested in joining the team of volunteers who welcome visitors at the front desk.

Museum Director David Tucker said “Experience isn’t necessary, it’s more important that you enjoy meeting people and have a positive and friendly outlook. We’ll ensure you’re fully trained and supported – just bring your enthusiasm! There are shifts available every day of the week, and if you can help on Sundays that would be particularly welcome. If this sounds like something you’d like to do, we’d love to hear from you.”

Front of House volunteer Mandy Selhurst said “I’d say just go for it – you can do the hours that suit you, it’s very enjoyable and I’ve met such lovely people working here.”

Lyme Regis Museum is a registered charity and has a team of over 80 active volunteers who fulfil a range of roles in the museum with the support of staff. The volunteer Front of House team work directly with the public on the front desk taking admissions, answering queries and helping in the shop. There are many volunteer roles in the museum so if this one isn’t for you, please do get in touch for a chat about other volunteering opportunities that are available.
