The project ‘Farming in the Lim Valley’ began in 2006. Museum volunteers Graham Davies and Ken Gollop were asked to research the farming scene in Lyme Regis and Uplyme before information was forgotten and documents lost. Over 60 farms, past & present, were identified, and presented in an exhibition of 70 display boards which was shown in Uplyme and Lyme Regis in 2008.

Following the success of the ‘Farming in the Lim Valley’ exhibition in 2008, the Museum’s Research Team was asked to extend its researches to Axminster and the surrounding parishes in East Devon.
