Lyme Regis Cemetery

Of the 5,000 + people buried in the cemetery, 48% are grass sites with no memorial marker of any kind. This, with the increasing number of non-legible headstones, and no useful modern plan, makes it difficult to identify many individual grave sites.

With the support of the Town Clerk, the Research Team set up a ‘Cemetery Project’ (2012-2016). From this we learnt about the history of the cemetery, the stories behind some of the graves, and most usefully, the location of individual graves, even if they are grass sites,
