‘To the Sea’ by Sarah Acton, Ilse Black & Emma Molony

Discover the creative results of To the Sea, Lyme Regis Museum’s artist residency programme exploring the town’s rich and enduring relationship with the sea.

Opening in early February 2027, the exhibition will bring together new works created by Sarah Acton, Ilse Black and Emma Moloney during their residencies at the Museum. Drawing inspiration from the Maritime Gallery, Museum collections, archives and the stories of Lyme Regis, each artist offers a distinctive perspective on the town’s maritime heritage.

From storytelling and printmaking to ceramics and illustration, To the Sea invites visitors to see Lyme Regis, its history and its connection with the sea through fresh eyes.
