Fossil Hunting Walk
Led by our Learning and Engagement Officer Kieran Satchell, the session includes an introductory talk and a beach fossil hunt, which begins at the famous Mary Anning statue on the way to the beach. It includes a discussion about the significance of Mary Anning and her discoveries and ends with a gallery tour of the Museum and our famous fossil gallery.

Discover Mary Anning Museum Talk & Town Walk
Learn all about the amazing Mary Anning and her remarkable discoveries, visit the museum, which stands on the site of her first home and fossil shop. Learn all about her ground-breaking discoveries, including her top 5 finds and take a short walk to the Mary Anning Statue and see the beaches where she went Fossil Hunting.

Learn all about the amazing Mary Anning and her remarkable discoveries and visit the museum which stands on the footprint of her first home and fossil shop. This talk and gallery tour focuses on Mary’s ground-breaking discoveries, how fossils form and includes a tour of our famous fossil gallery.

Fossil Polishing Workshop
This is a hands-on learning experience where pupils polishing their very own ammonite fossil to take home. The activity includes a guided tour of our famous fossil gallery with time to learn about the amazing Mary Anning and her remarkable discoveries.
Time: 3 Hours | Cost: £9.95 (Includes a real Jurassic Coast fossil to take home)

Outreach Visits
Visits to schools can include presentations, handling fossil specimens and replica models. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Time: 3 Hours | Cost: £175 (per class)
Online Talks
Let us come to you with our virtual Fossil Talk and tour of the Museum’s iconic Fossil Gallery. These interactive sessions cover Mary Anning and her key finds, how fossils form and the amazing geology of the Jurassic Coast. Pupils get to meet an expert palaeontologist and ask questions (delivered online).

*Note to schools/groups when booking. Please make it clear if you are expecting a fossil hunt during your session, not all of the activities listed above include a fossil hunt. Furthermore, fossil hunts are dependent on tide times and height and are not available on selected dates.
