Museum at Home > Sky
Devonshire Point and Sunset at Golden Cap.
Pat Porter. (B. 1944)
These two small paintings are tucked away on the first floor of the museum, almost under the staircase, between the Geology and Writers Gallery. They could easily be missed. Their energetic impressionistic brush strokes capture the wind, sea and sky on a blustery day. Their small size invites the viewer to look closely, as if through a window, they give a glimpse of the landscape and coastline beyond the walls of the museum.
