Pauline SayersLyme Bay – Light, Life and Sparkling Sea by Pauline Sayers

9 September – 8 November

Pauline Sayers is an artist who lives close to Lyme Regis and works along the stunning Jurassic Coast. Her artwork celebrates the experience of looking out to the sea at the beautiful and ever changing light, the movement of the waves and clouds – that moment of ‘being there’.

Pauline paints mostly in oils and acrylics on unbleached linen, starting with on the spot sketches and photographs, which she then explores back in the studio, using the movement of the brush or pen to give the impression of sweeping waves, or tiny details and glimmers of light.

Pauline has always drawn and painted from a young age. She grew up in Yorkshire and then studied Art at Cambridge University, gaining a degree in Fine Art and Education. She enjoyed teaching Art in secondary schools in Greater London, Cumbria and Somerset before concentrating solely on her own work. She is a long-standing member of Lyme Bay Arts and exhibits mainly at the Sou’Sou’West Gallery in Symondsbury and throughout the South West.

For visiting information please see our Plan your Visit page. This exhibition is FREE with admission.
