Wednesday 2nd April in the Guildhall - 2.30pm

“The Day the Earth Moved: The Great Landslip of 1839”
An illustrated talk by Professor Chris Paul in the Guildhall, 2.30. Part of the Drawing Inspiration Project running all the way along the Jurassic Coast at this time, with a concurrent exhibition at the Museum from 2nd April to 5th May - 'Drawing Inspiration - Lyme Landscapes'.

Thursday 3rd April at Woodmead Halls - 2.30pm

"Hidden History: Slavery in Dorset"
An illustrated talk by Jane Ferentzi-Sheppards.
The talk follows the Friends AGM.
Organised by the Friends of Lyme Regis Museum

Fossil Polishing on the Terrace
Buy a fossil at pocket money prices, polish it and take home a personalised souvenir.
Free entry to the Museum!

Tuesday 29th April at Woodmead Halls - 2.30pm

"High Cliff House and the Lister Family"
An illustrated talk by Richard Bull of Lyme Regis Museum
The Lister family were hugely important in the world of science and were the most well known residents of High Cliff House on Sidmouth Road but several other interesting people also lived there.
The talk follows the LRS AGM.
Jointly with The Lyme Regis Society

Coach leaves 8.30am from Holmbush Car-park.
Booking to be confirmed and paid by 1st May.

An exhibition about Lyme lads who served in Normandy in 1944.

“Jane Did it First”
A talk by Diana Shervington concerning Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, “Sanditon”. It seems that Jane got as far as Chapter 11, but following her death various versions have appeared in print “by Jane Austen and another lady”.

Tuesday 24th June in the Rotunda

A new art exhibition by Ronnie Creswell - In conjunction with Lyme Artsfest.

Saturday 5th July

Wartime Lyme Tour
Experience Wartime Lyme with our professional guide, Natalie Manifold.
Lyme was at the centre of Hitler's planned invasion called operation Sea Lion. The plan was to invade the UK via Lyme Bay. Discover how it protected iteself & Great Britain from invasion.
Learn about the D-Day Landings, General Eisenhower's visit to Lyme & the story of the American GIs, their girlfreinds and it's lasting impact on this little town.

Jointly with The Lyme Regis Society and the U3A. this talk costs £3.00 but is free for members of these two organisations and Friends of the Museum.

A discussion by the Curator of Ethnography at Exeter Museum on centuries-old practices involving interaction with the spiritual world. Illustrated using objects from the Museum's collection.
